Marta Fišnerová

Partner

Marta Fišnerová is a senior Czech advocate with over ten years in practice. Marta specializes particularly in litigation, insurance law and commercial law with a special interest in contracts and liability claims. She has a range of experience in handling disputes as well as settlement negotiations in relation to claims for compensation of damages in the field of construction, energy, IT and other technologies. Besides providing a day-to-day service to a number of both Czech and international companies (such as Avia, AIG, MetLife etc.), she also advises clients on regulatory and other compliance issues as well as issues relating to standard business operations. Before joining JŠK she worked for Kooperativa as an internal lawyer.

Michal Petr

Michal Petr graduated from Masaryk University Law School in 2002. In 2008, he completed his postgraduate studies (JUDr., Ph.D.) there.

Michal was until recently the deputy chairman of the Czech Competition Authority (CCA) in charge of competition matters. He retains some relationship with the CCA and – amongst other things – he participates in the rule making process. He has been involved in competition law for more than 10 years and has acted as deputy chairman of the CCA for the past 5 years. He also teaches competition law at the Palacký University in Olomouc and Masaryk University in Brno. Michal has written a number of articles and books and is a member of the editorial board of Antitrust – revue of competition law. He will particularly focus on advisory in the area of fair process, cartels and the EU/Czech law matters.

Dana Štumpová

Of-counsel

Dana Štumpová graduated from the Masaryk University Law Faculty in Brno. In 1994 she passed the judicial exam and was appointed a judge. From then on, she has been working as a judge and as an attorney in a few international law firms. In recent years, with other consultants, she has been involved in the supervision of some of the projects co-financed by European funds and has worked as a specialist in FIDIC contracts. Since 2005, Dana has provided several seminars about their use. She is currently a member of the Czech Association of Consulting Engineers and participates in the international workshops of FIDIC document users.
Dana pays particular attention to the issue of construction contracts related to public works contracts. In addition to her practice as an attorney, she also deals with the protection of property rights whether for restitution, prescription or sufferance of the land use by the airport operators under the Civil Aviation Act.

Tomáš Richter

Tomáš Richter graduated from Charles University Law School in 1994 and received his LL.M. from the Central European University in 1996 and Ph.D. (2002) from the Masaryk University Law School. Between 2011 and 2014, he held the Chair in Cross-Border Corporate Insolvency Law at the Radboud University Nijmegen Law School. In 2018, he completed habilitation proceedings at the Prague School of Economics.

Tomáš qualified as an attorney in 1998. From 1996 to 2004 he practiced at Allen & Overy in Prague, with secondments in London (1999) and Frankfurt (2002/2003). In 2005 he was partner at Noerr Stiefenhofer Lutz in Prague and from 2006 until 2021 of-counsel at Clifford Chance in Prague. He is an arbitrator at the Prague Stock Exchange Arbitration Court.

He specialises in corporate distress and insolvency and in the resolution of disputes arising from them. He currently serves as the Chair of INSOL Europe's Academic Forum and is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Insolvency Institute. He also serves on the group of private experts with whom the EU Commission consulted on its proposals of the Recast European Insolvency Regulation 2015/848 and the EU Restructuring Directive 2019/1023.

Patrik Müller

Managing associate

Patrik Müller graduated from the Law School of Masaryk University, Czech Republic in 2007. Patrik also took a one year study course in international and EU law at the University of Salamanca, Spain between 2004 and 2005. Patrik has been working with JŠK since his graduation. He has advised several lenders on the financing of a number of renewable energy source projects as well as real estate projects. Patrik represented AGEL, a leading Czech healthcare provider, in the acquisition of a regional hospital and Moravan Aviation (now Zlín Aircraft), a Czech manufacturer of sport aircraft, before the Czech Civil Aviation Authority including advising on certain insolvency and restructuring related matters. In his practice, Patrik also deals with energy regulation and public procurement law.

Lucia Regecova

Lucia has been part of our team since May 2021. She has practised law in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 2002. Prior to joining JŠK, she worked at leading Czech law firm Glatzova & Co., first as a senior lawyer and head of the Slovak branch in Bratislava, then as Counsel in Prague. Lucia also held the position of Head of Corporate Services at MOL Czech Republic, where she gained valuable managerial experience in the corporate and in-house environment. She has extensive experience with domestic and foreign clients and specialises primarily in M&A, real estate transactions and energy.

Helena Hailichová

Senior associate

Helena Hailichová is a senior Czech advocate with over 13 years of experience from both international and Czech law firms and as in-house counsel or secondee in international companies (such as T-Mobile, IBM, Hill's Pet Nutrition and Provident Financial). She focuses mainly on corporate and commercial law and also has extensive experience in employment law and data protection. Helena has also been advising Czech and international companies on sector specific regulatory issues with a particular focus on the IT, technology, media and telecommunications sectors. Before joining JŠK, Helena also gained experience working for the European Commission, Directorate General for Internal Market in Brussels. In addition, Helena is a court-appointed English interpreter.

Kateřina Chizzola Bardonová

Senior associate

Kateřina Chizzola Bardonová joined JŠK in 2011. She focuses mainly on insurance law including the drafting of insurance documentation and regulatory issues, litigation as well as debt collection and administration. Before joining JŠK, Katerina worked for one of the largest Czech law firms Havel, Holásek & Partners and temporarily, as an intern, for a law firm and a legal expenses insurer in the UK. Katerina is also a graduate of Cardiff University where she received a master’s degree in European Studies. Katerina became a member of the Czech Bar Association in 2012.

Michaela Šmotková

Michaela Šmotková joined JŠK in 2012. She mainly focuses on corporate and commercial law, insurance law, consumer disputes and data protection. She has vast experience in debt collecting and administration. Before joining JŠK, Michaela worked for one of the largest Czech law firm Havel, Holásek & Partners. Zuzana Hebká

Zuzana Hebká joined JŠK in 2014 and  focuses mainly on insurance law including regulatory issues, litigation and debt collection. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and also studied at the Université de Lausanne in Switzerland. As a student, before she joined JŠK, Zuzana gained experience in an international law firm in Prague. Zuzana became a member of the Czech Bar Association in 2014.

Martin Sztefek

Martin Sztefek joined JŠK in 2013. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in 2014, and in 2017 from the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor. During his legal studies, he also spent one year at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ghent in Belgium. Prior to joining JŠK, he worked at two leading Czech law firms. At JŠK, he focuses mainly on civil law, especially tort law, as well as corporate law, insurance, real estate and bankruptcy law. He passed the Czech bar exam in April 2018.

Eliška Šimonová

Eliška Šimonová has been working at JŠK since 2016, where she focuses mainly on litigation, civil and commercial law, and insurance law. Prior to joining JŠK she worked for international law firm Clifford Chance. A graduate of the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno, she devoted a semester to the study of corporate law in the Netherlands and also completed a course of study at the Faculty of Economics. Daniel Pospíšil

Senior associate

Daniel Pospíšil has been working at JŠK since 2013. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University and also completed a bachelor's degree at the University of Economics in Prague, where he studied international business. A graduate of the United Nations International School in New York, he is fluent in English. In his practice, he focuses primarily on corporate and commercial law and also on banking and finance. At JŠK he is in charge of the sports law agenda and also has experience in the field of energy law. Daniel passed the bar exam in December 2018.

Hana Císlerová

Senior associate

Hana Císlerová has been a member of the JŠK team since 2019. After completing her master's degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia, she received an LL.M. in intellectual property law at the University of Turin and the WIPO Academy. She then worked mainly on copyright and trademark law in Colombia, where she practiced for several years in law firms and in the public sector. She has also been a licensed attorney in Colombia since 2014.

She speaks English, French and Spanish and has been a judicial interpreter of Spanish since 2018.

Jana Pospíšilová

Zuzana Valoušková

Senior associate

Zuzana is a senior litigation lawyer specialising in complex disputes. Prior to joining JŠK she worked at major international law firms (Linklaters, Norton Rose Fulbright and Kinstellar). She has extensive experience in both litigation and arbitration, leading independently complex litigation and arbitration cases for clients across a number of industries (in particular in the energy, healthcare and medical devices sectors as well as for governmental institutions). In addition, she boasts expertise in corporate and competition law, having worked on some major M&A transactions on the Czech market. She has published a number of articles on various topics relating to litigation, life sciences and competition law.

Zuzana received her master's degree in law at Charles University in Prague (2005) and is a member of the Czech Bar Association. She also studied law at Universidad Pública de Navarra in Spain and received a scholarship and training programme in French law organised by the Paris Bar Association. She is a native Czech speaker, is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and has a basic knowledge of German.

Lenka Petráková has been working at JŠK since 2017. Lenka is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University and received a bachelor's degree in Operation and Economics at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. Iva van Leeuwen (Ulmannová)

Iva van Leeuwen has been working at JŠK since 2019. In addition to graduating with a master's degree from the Faculty of Law of Charles University and obtaining a bachelor's degree in International Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Prague, she also completed a programme focusing on the study of European Union law at Leiden University in the Netherlands (LL.M.). Prior to joining JŠK she worked in the field of human rights for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and for the United Nations in Ukraine and Kosovo, and in Czech and international NGOs. At JŠK she focuses on financial services and their regulation. She is fluent in English and conversant in Russian.

Tomáš Král

Tomáš has been a member of the JŠK team since 2014. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University and completed a one-semester exchange program "International and Comparative Business Law" at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg. During his studies he also gained work experience outside the private sector, at internships at the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic and in Advocate General’s cabinet at the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg. Filip Kvapil

Filip has been working at JŠK since the beginning of 2020 as a junior lawyer. A graduate of the Faculty of Law of Charles University, during his studies he gained work experience mainly in the field of criminal and civil law, specifically family law, contract law and civil procedure. He defended his diploma thesis on the topic of constitutive decisions in civil proceedings with a focus on the amendment or repeal of an obligation due to a substantial change in circumstances.
