Frequently asked questions
When will you tell me the decision?
Our recruitment process usually entails two rounds of interviews and a practical test. If you have a non-confidential sample of your earlier analytical work of professional or academic nature, please submit it with your CV to speed-up the process. We respond to submissions within one week and the process normally takes about three weeks.
What are the learning and training opportunities?
We consider training the most important factor of success and growth for the whole firm, regardless of the seniority of the relevant lawyer. We are offering our lawyers a wide range of internal and external training in special legal practices (e.g. the law of security, project finance, general finance, insurance, employment etc.), general economic knowledge (e.g. how to read a balance sheet, how do capital markets work etc.) and in soft skills (negotiation skills, communication skills, presentation skills).
In addition to the training arranged by the firm, each lawyer is encouraged to pursue other relevant trainings in the area of his or her interest.
Any chance of working abroad?
We do not have international offices of our own, but the firm very well understands and actively supports international experience. We are developing a program for exchanges with our affiliated firms within CEE and in other European countries. Moreover, we would promote international research placements (e.g. if you would like to spend a semester at an international university on a research project in an area, which is relevant to the business of the firm).
What are the working hours?
Our clients and the success of their transactions is our top priority. Accomplishing this sometimes requires long hours, but we are doing our best to set a balance between the busy hours and life outside our work. While lawyers in our firm are not working less hours than in any of the leading Czech or international commercial firms, they can work from home and are not expected to be in the office long hours when the client work does not require it. Moreover, we take the holidays of our people very seriously.
