Tomáš Doležil graduated from the Masaryk University Law School in Brno in 1998, and obtained an LL.M. Eur in European law from the European Institute in Saarbrücken, Germany in 2000. He also obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Economics in Prague in 2006. He has been an attorney at law since 2002. Before joining JŠK, he worked at the international law firms Linklaters (between 1999 and 2005) and Clifford Chance (between 2006 and 2014, from 2012 as counsel). In 2008, he worked for six months in the private equity department of Clifford Chance in Frankfurt. He has been a partner at JŠK and the head of its corporate/PE practice since 2014.
Tomáš focuses on providing advice in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate / commercial law, family companies and technology, media and telecommunications (TMT). He has worked on some 200 completed M&A projects internationally, regionally and domestically, many of which are among the most significant in the Central European market.
In addition, Tomáš has been a member of the board and chairman of the tax and legal commission of the Czech Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA), which supports companies operating in the field of private equity and venture capital. Since 2016 he has also been a member of the remonstrance commission of the Czech National Bank. Tomáš was a member of the recodification commission of the Ministry of Justice to the Corporations Act, and was actively involved in its preparation. He was named Lawyer of the Year in the area of commercial law for the year 2014 in a nationwide competition. He is also a co-author of the commentary on the Corporations Act (Wolters Kluwer), the C.H. Beck commentary on the Czech Civil Code, and the author of "Concerns in Community law" (Auditorium 2008). He regularly lectures on corporate law, mergers, and acquisitions.
