Jan graduated from the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University and, during his studies, completed an exchange programme at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He subsequently obtained an LL.M. degree from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. In addition to his legal education, he also earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Hradec Králové. He actively participated in moot court competitions focused on human rights and the protection of foreign investments.

In his practice, Jan focuses primarily on administrative law and administrative litigation. He specialises in tax disputes, administrative offence proceedings, matters relating to breaches of budgetary discipline and public subsidies, state aid, and claims for damages arising from the exercise of public authority. Through his several years of experience at the Supreme Administrative Court and subsequently at the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem – Liberec Branch, he gained extensive expertise in administrative decision-making and judicial review of administrative acts. Prior to joining JŠK, he worked at an international law firm.

Alongside his legal practice, Jan has also been involved in professional training and educational activities. He has delivered training on freedom of information, administrative litigation, and state liability for damages for professional education providers.

He is fluent in English and Polish.
