Roman graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in 1997 and subsequently completed his postgraduate studies there in 2000.

He started as an intern in 1994 at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris and at UBS in Geneva, at UBS in Hong Kong and at White & Case in Prague in 1995–1997. From 1997 to 2003 he worked as a trainee and subsequently as a lawyer at Allen & Overy in Prague and London.

In 2004, together with Nick Johnson and Eva Nováková, he founded the law firm Johnson & Kramařík, which was later renamed Johnson Šťastný Kramařík and which has been operating as JŠK since 2014.

Roman's experience includes representing a number of clients in acquisitions and financing, the conversion of Česká rafinérská into a so-called process refinery, financial and operational leasing of commercial aircraft, representing multinational clients in disputes and competition advice. Roman gained particularly intensive experience in the fields of public infrastructure construction in the form of PPP and others, in energy, telecommunications and healthcare.
