Corpo Refresh 2023

We summarised last year's most important and interesting changes in corporate law and beyond at our traditional Corpo Refresh 2023 yesterday. Prague's Edison Filmhub was already bustling in the early morning hours, where in addition to a pleasant breakfast, guests were treated to discussions on seven topics that partner Tomáš Doležil and his team prepared for them.

Klára Šmídová focused on the amendment to the Act on Transformations, which is still being discussed in the Chamber of Deputies. Helena Hailichová dealt with the already effective major amendment to the Labour Code, which amended, for example, work from home, the rights of contract holders or the electronic conclusion of contracts and agreements. Jan Koprnický examined the term of office of members of elected bodies, its extension or shortening, and the relationship between articles of association and executive service agreements based on the latest developments in jurisprudence. Our latest addition to the team, Lukáš Tománek, looked at the changes to "fifteen", i.e. funds according to Section 15 ZISIF.

Vladěna Svobodová shared the latest tips on what to do, or rather not, if the Office for the Protection of Competition or the European Commission decides to carry out dawn raids in your company. Hana Císlerová introduced us to the mysterious world of artificial intelligence, and presented news from the EU about a regulation that is supposed to set rules for AI operators according to a risk-based approach. Finally, Vladimir Ambruz turned the discussion to Great Britain, praising the UK government for its decision to accede to the 2019 Hague Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters.

Thank you to everyone who attended our business breakfast for contributing to the fantastic atmosphere and enjoyable meetings. We look forward to seeing you at Corpo Refresh 2024!
